about

Made over the course of the last three years, the North Yorkshire artist’s sound on this album is both simultaneously hazy and detailed, refined and abstract, with a distinctiveness of sound which follows on from the heady dubby swirl of Cacero Lazo's debut album 'regime of calm' in 2019. This album, ‘love in the time of lowercase’, unfolds as a coming-of-age album in which Cacero Lazo (aka Jonah Hebron) explores the ecstasy, uncertainty, and dread of the years just preceding adulthood. Dynamic in style; spacious, soaring passages abut taut, claustrophobic drone compositions; Ghostbox-esque slow house segues into orchestral dark ambience, expressively sound-tracking the teetering balance between the conflicting feelings of freedom and confinement which accompany this period in life.
